What is College and Career Readiness?

College and career readiness refers to the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to be successful in post-secondary education and/or training that lead to gainful employment. Today's workplace requires that all workers be lifelong learners in order to advance in their careers.

Career readiness education is critical in schools because it prepares students for life after college as they begin their careers, equipping them with the skills necessary to navigate the workforce.

What is Career Technical Education (CTE)?

Career and technical education, (CTE), teaches students core academic, employability, and technical, job-specific skills needed to pursue certifications, degrees, and high-wage opportunities for both college and a career.

Transforming Education for All Learners through Career Technical Education

Career and technology education can give your child what's needed to succeed for life: technical skills, academic skills and employability skills. College-bound students can get job experiences to help them define their career plans, identify an appropriate course of study and even help pay for tuition.
